

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Charity Golf (TSMCG) 2011: 'In Search of Malaysian Tiger' - KENWOOD As The Official Radio Communication Partner
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Charity Golf (TSMCG) will once again be hosting the TSM Golf Challenge 'In Search of Malaysian Tiger'. This year's tournament, the 6th series, will be held at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club on the 2nd till the 4th of December 2011. Participation from young and talented Malaysian Golfers is by invitation only and this year's. Total Prize is RM 150,000, all given away in the form of golf sponsorship.
The tournament began in 1996 for Boys Only and has since produced young champions including Lim Eng Seng, Akhmal Tarmizee Mohd Nazari, Haziq Hamizan, Ilyia Mohd Jamil, Gavin Kyle Green, Mohd Izaimi Ismail, Arie Irawan, Kenneth de Silva and when the Girls Category was introduced a year later, it also produced Ainil Johani Abu Bakar, Iman Ahmad Nordin, Michelle Koh and Kelly Tan among others.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the Founder of TSM Charity Golf started TSM Golf Challenge, 'In search of Malaysia Tiger' with the vision and objective to unearth and further nurture local talents to not only be able to excel in local competitions but also be able to go head to head in the international arena and fly the Malaysian flag in professional tour.
"It's a very exciting to see the top junior players in the country coming face to face, determined to prove themselves" says Dato' Haris Ismail, Chairman of Tournament Committee. "Each year the competition brings a whole new standard amongst the youngsters and in effect it raises the bar for the newcomers, and a lot of them rise to the occasion", added Datuk A.S Khamis, the Tournament Director.
There are 3 categories: Under 21 Years Old Boy (Born 1990 and later), Under 21 Years Old Girl (Born 1990 and later) and the Under 15 Years Old (Born 1996 and later). The handicap limit is 12 and below (Under 21) and 18 and below (Under 15 Boys).
The tournament is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and co-sponsored by other organizations and donors. It is sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association and supported by R&A, World Amateur Golf Ranking and the National Fitness Council.
